What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include localStorage keys used for consent preferences. They help a site remember choices and understand usage.
How we use them
Devenv Tools uses essential cookies/local storage so basic features work (including remembering your cookie choice) and, only if you accept, optional analytics cookies to learn which lesson and journal pages are useful.
Rejecting optional cookies does not block browsing, form submission, or access to training information.
Types we use
Essential — required for consent storage and security of form submissions.
Analytics — optional measurements of page views and referrers.
Cookie table
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| devenvtools_cookie_consent | Stores Accept or Reject choice for the cookie banner | 1 year (localStorage) | Devenv Tools |
| _ga | Distinguishes visitors for aggregate analytics (only if accepted) | 2 years | Google Analytics |
| ga* | Maintains analytics session state (only if accepted) | 2 years | Google Analytics |
Essential consent storage is set when you choose Accept or Reject. Analytics cookies are set only after Accept.
Managing cookies
Use the banner choices on your first visit. Clearing site data in your browser removes localStorage and cookies; the banner may appear again. You can also block cookies in browser settings. See browser help for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
Disabling essential storage may cause the banner to reappear frequently but will not remove lesson content. Disabling analytics simply means we collect fewer aggregate statistics.
Third-party cookies
If analytics is accepted, Google may set cookies as listed above under their terms. We do not load marketing pixels for advertising networks on this site.
